Our Beliefs

We Believe...

  • in the Scriptures (Old Testament, 39 books and New Testament, 27 books) as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority in life and faith.

  • in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.

  • that man – male and female – was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.

  • that God’s exclusive model for marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime of godliness and fidelity. Marriage is a unique gift of God, illustrating the union between Christ and His Church.

  • that human life begins at conception and that all human beings, however much affected by the fall, are created in the image of God and are therefore worthy of respect and protection. We believe this applies to the unborn, sick, disabled, and elderly.

  • that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that we who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

  • that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

  • that all whom God the Father has given to the Lord Jesus Christ will most certainly be redeemed.

  • that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, that He is their comforter and guide, and that He seals them unto the Day of Redemption.

  • the Church of Christ to be the entire company of believers, baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body.

  • in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord and in His ascension into Heaven, where He now intercedes for us as High Priest and Advocate.

  • in the personal bodily return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  • in the bodily resurrection and judgment of the saved to eternal blessedness, and the bodily resurrection and judgment of the lost to eternal punishment.

  • in the existence of Satan, the deceiver and god of this present world, that he was defeated and judged at the cross, and that his final doom is certain.

  • the two scriptural ordinances given to the local church are believers' baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, to be partaken of by believers only.
